It is safe to say that Covid-19 has exacerbated an already challenging mental health and substance use ecosystem. Youth continue to face numerous pressures that can lead them towards unhealthy coping behaviors. Media exerts influence over culture and this has a direct impact on youth attitudes and behavior. Learn ways to interpret substance use and mature content with teenagers.
Workshop Learning Objectives Include:
- Participants will learn about current factors impacting youth mental health and addictive behaviors.
- Participants will learn how media impacts adolescents and its relationship to substance use.
- Participants will learn actionable strategies for parents to speak effectively to adolescents about substance use in media.
